I am passionate about the one-pot, quick and easy dishes this season. They save time and effort, as well as leave behind less clean. Today, I recommend that you prawn this forest pot orzo and give it a try with Feta. The combination of shrimp, pasta, butter, feta cheese and lemon is really delicious. Check it for yourself.

I often cook Orzo with feta and butter, because my husband likes it for breakfast. She is Bulgarian, and she taught me this delicious way to enjoy pasta and noodles. This time, I decided to add shrimp, lemon, and extra love, to change it to fill it. 🙂


One Pot Orzo with Shrimp and Feta


If I assure you to try this, do not forget to lose anytime and start cooking. You will need:


  • 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
  • 12 Jumbo shrimp, peeled and absorbed
  • 1 tsp. Old Bay Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1/2 cup good quality feta cheese crumbles
  • Lemon juice
  • For the chopped parsley and lemon wedges garnish

Steps to make shrimp and feta orzo:


1. Boil a large pot of water and cook pasta according to the instructions of the package. Rinse with drain, cold water, and set aside. Meanwhile, dry the shrimp with the paper towel, and mix them with the Old Bay Seasoning.

2. Melt 1 tbsp. In a large, non-stick skillet on medium heat, add butter. Add shrimp and fry for 1-2 minutes on each side, as long as it is cooked.

3. Remove the shrimps from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add remaining 1 tablespoon. Butter and melt until it starts with just brown. Add orzo and feta cheese. Mix everything well and turn off the heat.

4. Arrange shrimp on top and drizzle with a generous amount of lemon juice.

5. Garnish with chopped parsley, lemon wedges and some extra feta cheese.

Please, try to find some good quality feta, as it creates a difference world in this recipe. I recommend buying bricks selling in bricks and still selling brine.
